In September 2015, designer Jólan van der Wiel and Benthem Crouwel Architects started Forces for Architecture – a research lab that explores how natural phenomena can serve the built environment.
Various experiments have been conducted in the lab, resulting in conceptual models, materials and ‘building skins’ that respond to natural forces. Recent prototypes of the lab will be presented on June 2nd at Benthem Crouwel Architects. This article shows and writes about what was presented on that day and the process of this successful collaboration.
