Tropic City Amsterdam

March 3 –5, 2017

What would a tropical Amsterdam look like?

Inspired by the vegetation layers of the jungle, the oppressive heat and the way fruits and insects protect themselves through a prickly skin, camouflage and bright, toxic colors, Jólan van der Wiel has created his tropic version of Amsterdam. The scale of the objects and installations is inspired by the remarkably large size of leaves, flowers and trees in the tropical rainforest.

You are more than welcome to visit Tropic City at Het Scheepvaartmuseum in Amsterdam.
